Is There a Vaccine for Swine Flu?

Since swine flu H1N1 virus is relatively new thus no vaccine till date has been produced to cure this disease. Moreover this situation becomes even worse with the fact that commonly available medicines of seasonal flu are not effective in treating swine flu. Large numbers of scientist from all over the globe are working hard in order to create a swine influenza vaccine and many of them have also claimed to be very close to their goal. Even when the vaccine for swine flu is made, it will take time for various tests to ensure that it is safe for human beings. It can take between few weeks to a year in order to confirm that vaccine is considered safe in its use. Once the vaccine for swine flu is made then it is recommended that it should first go to pregnant women, emergency and healthcare medical services personnel, children and young adults between the age group of 6 months to 24 years and persons suffering from various health conditions that are associated with high risk of medical complication from the flu. Moreover the swine flu vaccine cannot be combined with the vaccine which is meant for treating the seasonal flu infection
