Can Swine Flu Germs Live on Surfaces?

Swine influenza A (H1N1) virus spreads in the same way as the normal seasonal flu. It can spread from person to person through sneezing and coughing of patients with influenza. One can also have influenza through touching the surface at different places. Yes, bacteria and viruses can on surfaces like tables, desks, door locks etc. So, whenever you come from outside you must make it a point to wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly. It is also important to make this as a practice even though you are at home.

When someone touches any surface or thing that is contaminated with germs and then touches nose or eyes then there are chances of this person getting infected. If someone with germs sneezes and the droplets fall on the surface and when any other person comes in contact with these germs, there might be infection. The germs can live on the surface for more than 2 hours. And that’s why one must take preventive steps so that can avoid infection.

The symptoms of this flu are similar to human flu like cough, body ache, fatigue, sore throat etc. Swine flu is chronic and can lead to worse conditions. Even deaths have been reported in the past.
