Swine flu (H1N1) virus is contagious. It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by ‘type A’ influenza virus. It can be infected to humans. And, it spreads from human to human. During the outburst of swine flu, it can be prevented if certain preventive steps are taken:

• Complete hygiene should be maintained in order to keep this flu away. It is important to wash hands using water and soap.
• Tissues must be carried everywhere you go. And it must be used while coughing and sneezing and then after that it must be thrashed properly.
• Germs spread by touching eyes, ears and nose. This must be avoided.
• Avoid contact with people who are ill.
• If you experience flu like symptoms and fever then remain at home for 24 hours. And if the fever goes visit the doctor.
• Make use of masks while travelling to stay away from this virus.
• Don’t eat outside food or drink outside water and avoid going to public places because the germs remain on surface and can catch you.
• Whenever you fall ill, avoid contact with public so that you are not the agent of spreading this virus.
