Is Pneumonia Contagious?

Pneumonia is highly contagious and everyone is at risk when someone has it. Babies from people over 65 are at a high risk of getting Pneumonia and even if they are very healthy.

Pneumonia spreads because you often sneeze and cough. When you sneeze and cough it ejects droplets that are contaminated and releases them in the air. People that are around them inhale the droplets that are contaminated causing them to get Pneumonia.

People can get Pneumonia from the cold or flu. It does not happen very much but when you have the cold or flu you must always wash your hands and try to cover your nose and mouth whenever you sneeze. You never know when it could turn into Pneumonia. You should always keep kleenex with you when you have the flu or either a cold. Never touch babies or pick them up because they can catch it really easy.
