Common cold can pass from one person from another through air, it is highly contagious. The person with common cold while sneezing or coughing can pass on the virus in to the environment which could be taken up by any other person in close proximity. So stay away from the person with common cold and also from a person who smokes. The virus can travel up to 12 feet when common cold affected person sneezes or coughs. Also common cold can be acquired by a healthy person from a surface contaminated by the secretions of the common cold affected person, he might have use that surface after touching his nose or mouth. One should be careful and aware of his or her disease and should be concern about others while in social environment. One should maintain some amount of hygiene to avoid migration of the virus like one should wash their hands thoroughly after sneezing or coughing. When in public try covering up your nose and mouth with a handkerchief or your hand while sneezing and coughing. Also a healthy person should take care while socializing with a common cold affected person try keeping distance and also always avoid the things or items touched by the affected one. Restrain yourself from a person smoking as it tends to accelerate the spread of virus. |
