What is Flu and Cold Season? |
Flu, also known as Influenza, is a form of illness caused by the RNA virus. This virus is mainly found in the respiratory tracts of humans, animals as well as birds. This infection is characterized by high fever and headaches. People infected with this virus often develop sore throat which leads to severe cough. Feelings of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are common symptoms of this infection. This form of respiratory infection is more severe than other infections such as cold and reports a mortality rate of 0.1 per cent. The seasonal flu is a common infection and can be easily cured with strong dosages of antibiotics. However, the outbreaks of some flu are extremely severe. In this case, the virus strain that attacks humans is significantly altered against which humans have no immunity. |
