What is the Common Cold? |
Common cold is a contagious disease caused by large number of viruses is a most common disease affecting the humans. It is actually an infection of the upper respiratory tract due to some virus. There are almost more than 200 viruses which can cause common cold. Besides there are new viruses on the verge of getting developed on a regular basis and already existing large number of virus makes it difficult for a human body to cope with those many viruses. The resistance is not enough to shield you from common cold, finally succumb to the disease though not that fatal, shouldn’t be taken lightly. As the virus are unknown and new common cold occur frequently and large number of times. Though the disease is highly contagious i.e. spreads from a person who is affected to a healthy person via some means through air, the affected person should take care while sneezing. Taking rest for the entire day and drinking lots of fluid can cure the disease but in severe case you need to take medicine. All over the world people have complaint about the disease as it comes in a frequent basis is the main reason for people visiting doctor. It mainly affects the adolescents and small children, causing 4 to 12 colds a year whereas causing 3-4 colds in adults. |
