How long is the Common Cold Contagious?

The common cold is very contagious can spread from one person to another through air via open sneezing or coughing. You don’t want your cold to spread to others so you should try socially inactive during this period and if you can’t afford to you should maintain high standards of hygiene like covering up your mouth and nose with handkerchief, washing your hands after sneezing and coughing. Because last thing you want is spread misery among the other healthy people.

 Also a healthy person should avoid contact with an affected person and also the objects or any utilities used by him or her. At the first day of cold you would feel you are fine and think it won’t be contagious but this is the period where your cold is highly contagious, unaware of the case you would spread your virus among lot of people and also virus tends to replicate the most on the first day before the symptoms. There is a belief that cold is not that contagious or it does not spread until the affected person has fever isn’t true, cold is highly contagious before symptoms show up. The virus is most contagious on the first day and intensity almost remains for next three to four days and with days the intensity weakens.
